NYCHC Community Members,

We are seeking engaged, qualified candidates to serve a three-year term on our Board of Directors. The Board Development Committee will review applications and interview selected candidates in the new year. Candidates who might not be directly connected to the bleeding disorders community are welcome and invited to apply.

We believe that the inclusion of diverse ideas, cultures, and experiences is critical to the fulfillment of our mission and our leadership as a Board. We seek to ensure our leadership reflects the diversity of the inherited bleeding disorders community.

All Board Candidates must:
  • Reside in the New York City Metro Area and be 18 years of age or older.
  • Have some experience with the governance and/or management of businesses or organizations.
  • Be vetted according to NYCHC’s conflict of interest policy, which excludes anyone employed by an organization that manufactures, markets, or sells products or services to the bleeding disorders community.
  • Be willing to make NYCHC one of their top personal philanthropic causes, and will participate in some manner in connection with the annual Unite Walk, NYCHC’s largest fundraising event.

All backgrounds will be considered. In particular, this year we are seeking candidates who may have experience in (i) fundraising, (ii) community engagement, and/or (iii) accounting/bookkeeping/finance.

The deadline for applications is Tuesday, December 31, 2024.

The Board Development Committee will review all applications and select a portion to interview based on the specific needs of the organization. Once the interviews are complete, the Committee will make a recommendation to the whole board for a vote. New members must be voted in by a majority vote from the current Board.
