Why We Walk: The Bronx Clotters
Written By: Providers at the Montefiore Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center (HTC)
As we inch closer to our 2024 Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk on June 2, we asked Team Captains to share why they walk with NYCHC every year. Get involved in our Walk by forming your own team, registering to participate as an individual, or placing a donation at www.nychcwalk.org.
This year will be the Bronx Clotters’ second time walking with the New York City Hemophilia Chapter! We are a group of providers from the Montefiore Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center, and we walk to support our patients along with all the other patients living with bleeding disorders. The HTC at Montefiore was established in 2016 to meet the needs of patients in the Bronx, Westchester and Rockland counties.
Seeing how new treatments have made a huge difference in our patient’s lives inspires us to want to raise money for research into future treatments (hopefully curative ones!) for them. We love coming together as a community at the Walk to help raise awareness. We hope to have many of our patients participate in the walk with us this year!
