Join Shannon Penica Walters, a behavioral specialist and consultant, as she speaks about behavioral approaches to improve adherence during infusions. The webinar will cover 4 main strategies that can help children adhere to their treatment regimens:
• Distraction
• Differential positive reinforcement
• Counter-conditioning
• Behavioral contracts
After reviewing these strategies, Shannon will explore the successful use of counter-conditioning in one boy with hemophilia. She also shows how behavioral strategies can reduce distress in children, increasing patient safety and satisfaction.
