We have exciting news to share! After much planning and a pandemic that put everything on pause, we launched our first Patient & Family Council Group in the summer of 2023.
Five amazing community members generously agreed to step up as volunteers to give their time and expertise to help us start this group. The theme of our council is “Better Together.”
We value our community’s thoughts, concerns, and ideas, and wanted to create a formal method of ongoing, two-way communication between patients, families, and our HTC staff, with the goal of driving our care forward.
We are committed to promoting respectful and effective partnerships with our community members and the council has been designed to provide a safe space for community members to share their struggles, needs, challenges, frustrations, and concerns managing their personal bleeding journey. Members are committed to being the conduit for improving communication and promoting a collaborative relationship between the HTC and the community we serve.
We are all looking forward to working in concert with our Northwell community members and genuinely believe we are better together.
The group is open to our patients and families who wish to serve.
If you are interested in joining and or would like to speak with one of our group members, please reach out to Laura J. Gormly at 718-470-7564.
